Enrolment Terms and Conditions

Thank you for choosing to enrol in the Conservatorium of Music Schools Program.

Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully before completing your enrolment.

By submitting your enrolment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Enrolment

1. All enrolments and invoicing are handled by the Conservatorium.

2. Students are enrolled on a term-by-term basis.

3. Lessons are scheduled during Weeks 1–9 of each school term.
   Week 10 is reserved for approved make-up lessons where applicable.

4. To secure your regular lesson day and time for future terms, enrolments automatically continue into the following term unless written notice of withdrawal is received.

5. Lesson times are allocated for the duration of each term. Requests to change lesson times should be discussed directly with your tutor.
   Changes are subject to tutor availability and cannot be guaranteed. Any approved changes will be communicated to the Conservatorium by your tutor.

NOTE: It is a requirement of the Con Schools Program that any student who wants to be in a band or ensemble, are also receiving lessons either through our ConSchool program or a private tutor.

2. Fees and Payments

1. Student are invoiced for the full school term.

2. All lesson fees are payable in advance.

3. GST applies to all applicable fees.

4. Invoices are issued before the commencement of each term and payment is due 14 days from the invoice date.

5. Enrolment reserves your lesson place for the entire term.

6. If lessons are discontinued during the term, full payment for the term remains payable.

Lesson Pricing

• Individual Instrumental Lessons — $445.05 incl. GST per student per Term (9 weeks)

• Shared Instrumental Lessons — $219.96 incl. GST per student per Term (9 weeks)

• School Concert Bands and Choirs — $65.00 incl. GST (one weekly rehearsal for 9 weeks)

• Rock Con — $126.00 incl. GST per student per Term (9 weeks)

• Ukulele Ensemble — $126.00 incl. GST per student per Term (9 weeks)

• Stage Band — $126.00 incl. GST per student per Term (9 weeks)

(Discounts apply for students in more than one ensemble.)

3. Late Payments

1. Accounts not paid by the due date may receive reminder notices.

2. Continued non-payment may result in the suspension of lessons and/or the reallocation of the student's lesson time to another student on the waiting list.

3. Outstanding accounts remain payable regardless of lesson attendance.

4. Student Absences or Missed Lessons

1. By enrolling in music lessons, you are reserving a dedicated weekly lesson time for the duration of the school term.
   Con School term dates align with the NSW Public School calendar. Your lesson fees reserve your (or your child's) regular lesson time, regardless of whether you attend or miss a scheduled lesson.

2. If you wish to cancel a lesson/s during the term, you must notify your tutor directly and the lesson/s will be marked as missed.

3. The Conservatorium accepts no financial responsibility for student absences. Lesson fees are fixed for the term and will not be reduced, refunded or credited for missed lessons.

4. The participating school may not always notify the Conservatorium or tutors of school activities that conflict with scheduled music lessons. Lessons missed due to school excursions, sporting events,  other school-related activities, or personal reasons will remain chargeable. Where parents provide tutors with advance notice of such activities, reasonable efforts may be made to accommodate scheduling adjustments; however, any changes are subject to tutor availability and cannot be guaranteed.

5. Students who are unwell are strongly encouraged not to attend face-to-face lessons.

5. Lateness

1. Tutors operate on a fixed lesson schedule and generally teach back to back lessons.

2. Students arriving late to their lesson will receive the remainder of their allocated lesson; however, lessons must finish at the scheduled time to avoid impacting subsequent students.

6. Rotating School Timetables

1. For schools operating on rotating timetables, students are responsible for checking their scheduled lesson time each week with their school or teacher.

7. Teacher Absence & Make-up Lessons

If a tutor is unable to teach due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances, the Conservatorium will endeavour to provide one of the following:

1. A relief teacher or a make-up lesson.

2. Where none of these options are possible, a credit for that lesson’s teaching fee may be applied to the following term’s invoice.

3. Make-up lessons are held during the final week of the school term (Week 10) in your regular lesson time where possible.
   If you are unable to attend the allocated make-up lesson, the lesson will be forfeited.

4. Make-up lessons cannot be transferred or carried forward into the following term.

5. Please note that shared lessons are not eligible for make-up lessons unless the teacher has been absent during the term.

8. Exceptional Circumstances

If lessons cannot proceed due to circumstances beyond the Conservatorium’s control (including public health restrictions (covid type lockdown), natural disasters, or other emergency events), lessons may be delivered via make-up lessons or another suitable alternative where possible. Refunds or lesson credits may be available at our discretion.

Where lessons continue to be delivered, refunds or credits will not be available.

9. Withdrawal from Lessons

1. Students are enrolled and pay for the full school term and are committed for the full term.

2. No refunds or partial credits will be provided if a student withdraws after the term has commenced.

3. If you wish to discontinue lessons for the following term, written notice must be provided by email to [email protected] at least one (1) week before the commencement of the new term.

4. If notice is not received by this date, your enrolment will continue and the following term’s fees will remain payable.

5. Verbal notification cannot be accepted. Withdrawal requests must be submitted by email.

6. If you simply cease attending lessons without notifying the Conservatorium, you will continue to be invoiced in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

10. Creative Kids Vouchers

Where applicable:

1. A copy or screenshot of the Creative Kids Voucher must be emailed to [email protected]. Voucher numbers alone cannot be accepted.

2. Vouchers may only be used by the student named on the voucher.

3. Vouchers should be submitted at least one (1) week before the commencement of the new term.

4. By submitting a voucher, you authorise the Conservatorium to redeem the voucher against your child's eligible tuition fees or band rehearsals.

5. Once successfully processed through Service NSW, the voucher value will be applied as a credit to your account.

6. Voucher values cannot be refunded or reimbursed if lessons are discontinued.

11. Photography and Video Recording

The Conservatorium may occasionally photograph or record students during lessons, concerts, performances, or other events for use in promotional materials, including:

• the Conservatorium website;

• social media;

• newsletters;

• brochures; and

• other marketing publications.

If you do not wish for you or your child to appear in photographs or recordings, please notify the Conservatorium in writing at the time of enrolment.
